Family and Friends: They may be your best source
for borrowing money for your home-based business. Why? Because
they know you, believe in
you and
trust you. If they are in a position to lend you money and will not
then a bank
probably wouldn’t want to take a chance on you either. You may want to

tip as a negotiation tool to help convince them if they are hesitant to
lend
you the money to fund your home-based business.

GRANTS! I wish we had better news for
you. As far as we
can tell there are no government grants available to start or fund a
home-based
business.
As
for Private Foundations we did not find any grants there as well but
there are
tens of
thousands of organizations out there offering grants for various
reasons. Are
there grants for funding a home-based business it is possible but our
research
has not
uncovered any at this time. If
we do

out there you should be able to

The U.S
Government and
Private Foundations usually provide grants that are geared towards
non-profit
organizations, education and/or specific projects. Money for
individuals is
extremely rare and hard to find. There are grants to individuals for
real
estate purposes such as for major emergency repairs like (septic system
failure) or for various other real estate endeavors. These grants are
awarded
to the community or state and you would have to approach the proper
agency to
apply for the money.
